Bursaries
Together for Westminster: Bursary Appeal 2025

At Westminster, we aim to recruit and nurture a diverse and inclusive community of gifted young people, regardless of their financial means or backgrounds. We currently commit over £2 million to means-tested bursaries each year. We have an even greater ambition: to increase this to at least £2.5 million annually to support an expanded range of awards.

We seek support from Old Westminsters, current parents and parents of OWW, and members of our wider community who are passionate about the transformative experience of a Westminster education. Every donation, however large or small, is much appreciated. Together, we can create more opportunities for young people with exceptional academic abilities.

“By unlocking the potential of their exceptional minds, we not only help transform the lives of bursary recipients, but also deepen and broaden the social and intellectual experience for everyone. Wherever they come from, pupils at Westminster develop both their cleverness and their character, so that they leave us as thoughtful, compassionate, driven individuals, ready and able to make meaningful contributions to society and shape a brighter future for generations to come.

Please help us to continue this transformational work.

Thank you.”

Tax efficient giving in the UK

As a registered charity, all donations made to Westminster School by UK tax payers can be made tax efficiently, significantly increasing the value of your gift through Gift Aid at no extra cost to you.

Higher rate tax relief

If you are a higher-rate tax payer, you can claim tax relief on all your charitable donations, including donating your acceptance fee. By including information about your donations in your self-assessment tax return, this significantly reduces the cost of your donations.

Ben Jonson Foundation

Established in 2018, the Ben Jonson Foundation is an endowment fund to support bursary places in perpetuity that we seek to grow through investment management and exceptional lifetime gifts, gifts in wills and gifts in memory. Over time, disbursements from this fund will complement the currently available funding provided from the Bursary Fund and other sources.

We value philanthropic partnerships with families, Old Westminsters and others wishing to ensure the accessibility of a Westminster education for future Westminsters of exceptional talent and promise.
