Westminster School, as we know it today, was founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1560, with the mission statement that the School was to educate “40 poor scholars for the benefit of society”. Through the newly launched 1560 Society, our wide and varied community will continue the legacy of philanthropy that was established by Elizabeth I.
An increasing number of Old Westminsters, current and former parents and current and former staff have chosen to make regular donations to Westminster School. The 1560 Society is our way of recognising and encouraging regular giving. Anyone who makes a regular donation towards Westminster’s charitable objectives will become part of the 1560 Society, recognised in future Rolls of Benefactors (if they wish to be) and invited to special events every year, as the School’s way of saying thank you for their generosity. By choosing to make a gift regularly, whether it be monthly, quarterly or annually, everyone within the Westminster community has the opportunity to give back to Westminster School and contribute to its future.

If you would like your regular donation to support another area of school life, then please get in touch with the Development Team to discuss it.
